The ingredients for Paula Deen's grape salad recipe include red and green seedless grapes, sugar, cheddar cheese, cream cheese, sour cream, pecans and brown sugar. This recipe is easy to make, takes about 15 minutes to prepare and serves 12-14 people.
To make the grape salad, slice 4 pounds of red and green grapes in half. In a large mixing bowl, add 1/2 cup of sugar, 8 ounces of softened cream cheese and 8 ounces of sour cream. Combine these ingredients together using an electric mixer. It is okay if the mixture still has some tiny lumps in it. Once these ingredients are combined, add the grape halves and 8 ounces of grated cheddar cheese, and hand-stir until well-combined. Next, cover the mixture with plastic wrap, and refrigerate it overnight. If you are running short on time, you can refrigerate the mixture for as little as four hours without significantly altering the flavor of the final product. Just before serving, combine 2 cups of chopped pecans and 1/4 cup of brown sugar to the grape mixture. For added flavor, roast the pecans before adding them to the salad. If you desire a different texture and a more aesthetically pleasing salad, leave some grapes whole.
