Full Answer

Moringa tea contains varying amounts of Moringa leaf powder. This leaf powder is prepared from fresh or dry Moringa leaves. Leaves are dried by plucking green, mature leaves from the tree's branches, then air-drying and crushing them. Then the leaves are mechanically dried to remove moisture completely and store the leaf powder.

Either cold or hot water is used to make Moringa tea. To make cold tea, 1 to 2 tablespoons of the leaf powder is added to 16 ounces cold water. Hot Moringa tea requires only 1/2 to 1 teaspoon powder added to 8 to 12 ounces hot water. Hot water steeps the tea faster than cold water.

Along with Moringa leaf powder, fresh ginger root and lemon juice are added to enhance the flavor of the tea. Lemon zest, lemongrass, green tea and coconut milk can also be added to improve the tea's taste and aroma. Honey or sugar are usually used as the sweetener. However, these are optional ingredients.
