To make a dozen homemade peanut butter cookies using an Easy Bake oven, melt 2 tablespoons of butter in the warming cup for three minutes. Stir in 1/4 cup of cocoa. Combine with 1/2 cup of sugar, 1/4 cup of milk and a pinch of salt. Stir in 1 teaspoon of vanilla, 1 tablespoon of peanut butter and 1 1/2 cups of uncooked oatmeal. Form the dough into 12 cookies, and heat in the Easy Bake Oven until browned.
For slightly more complicated candied cherry cookies, cream 1/2 cup softened butter and 1/2 cup packed brown sugar. Stir in 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla. Separately, mix 1 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour with 1 1/2 teaspoons of baking powder and 1/4 teaspoon of salt. Combine the flour mixture with the butter mixture. Gently stir in 3 tablespoons of chopped nuts and 3 tablespoons of finely chopped candied cherries.
Divide the dough into two equal halves, cover, and then chill for approximately 60 minutes. Form each half into an 8 inch log, and chill for 3 hours or overnight.
Spread butter and flour over the Easy Bake Oven's baking pans. Unwrap the dough, slice into 1/4 inch rounds, and place in the prepared pans. Bake in the Easy Bake Oven for approximately 20 minutes, or until the cookies are browned. Cool on the wire rack, and serve.
