The East Coast chain Wegmans and the Southeastern chain Publix are highly rated grocery stores in the United States, according to Fiscal Times. Consumers also rate the national chain Trader Joe's and Midwest chain Fareway Stores as top-quality grocery stores.
Wegmans, founded in 1916, has stores in six states in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions and specializes in gourmet foods. Publix, which first opened its doors in 1930 and is known for its new and renovated retail properties, also has grocery stores in six states, including North and South Carolina, Tennessee, Florida and Alabama. Specialty grocery retailer Trader Joe's launched in 1967 and continues to open grocery stores across the country. Fareway Stores, located in five Midwestern states, receives high ratings for low prices and top-quality customer service.
