The Hershey Company began in Lancaster, Penn., where Milton produced a chocolate coating for caramels. In 1900, the company began producing chocolate bars. They became very popular due to their affordability. Until that time, chocolates had been luxuries for the rich.
In 1905 a new chocolate factory was built in Derry Township, Penn. The town has since changed its name to Hershey. In 1907, the Hershey Kiss was created, and in 1924, the company had its paper plume trademarked.Learn more about Candy
