The Food Network website features a good strawberry daiquiri recipe that calls for light rum, triple sec, fresh strawberries, lime juice and sugar. Puree ice cubes, 2 part light rum, 1 part triple sec, 1 part fresh strawberries and lime juice in a blender, and serve with lime wedges.
Epicurious provides a good, simplified version of the strawberry daiquiri recipe. Blend together 1/2 cup of crushed ice, 5 large strawberries, 2 ounces of white rum, 2 teaspoons of sugar and 1/2 ounce of freshly squeezed lime juice. Serve in a chilled martini glass. Garnish the edge of the glass with a fresh strawberry or a lime wedge.
Another recipe uses strawberry liqueur in conjunction with the fresh strawberries to boost the taste. While blending up the strawberries, sugar, white rum and lime juice, add 1 tablespoon of strawberry liqueur as well or mash everything together in a cocktail shaker.
Make a strawberry-coconut daiquiri by using coconut-flavored rum instead of white rum. First, blend together 2 tablespoons of lime juice, 3 tablespoons of sugar and 2 1/2 cups of either fresh or frozen strawberries, making sure not to thaw them first. Once the mixture is smooth, gradually add 3 cups of ice cubes to the blender and 3/4 cup of coconut-flavored rum. Once the drink turns frothy, serve.
