Three recipes for grilled shrimp are lemon, garlic and herb, and honey grilled shrimp. These recipes use few ingredients, are flexible for personal taste and take only a few minutes of active prep time. They all use medium to extra large shrimp.
To make lemon grilled shrimp, use shrimp with the shells on, and butterfly them to remove the veins. Create a mixture of salt, pepper and olive oil, and then brush it on the shrimp, leaving them in the shells to preserve moisture. Grill them for two minutes on one side, and then flip them and grill for another two minutes until the shells are pink. Add lemon halves to the grill during the last minute to infuse their flavor.
Garlic and herb shrimp uses peeled, deveined shrimp. Mix together minced garlic, salt, pepper, basil and other seasonings to taste with a little olive oil. Put the shrimp in the mixture and marinate for at least 20 minutes. Grill for five to six minutes, turning regularly.
For a sweeter recipe, mix Italian dressing and honey together, and then marinate the shrimp. Save the marinade, and put the shrimp on skewers to grill. Halfway through cooking, baste the shrimp with the leftover marinade.
