One good Omaha Steaks recipe is whiskey barbecue-marinated top sirloin, a recipe from Karl Marsh, executive chef at Omaha Steaks. The recipe appears on NebraskaLife.com and accompanies a recipe for beef sirloin kebobs with mojo sauce.
To make the whiskey barbecue-marinated top sirloin, thaw 4 Omaha Steaks top sirloin steaks. For the marinade, mix 1 1/2 cups of barbecue sauce, 1 1/2 cups of whiskey, 1/4 cup of Worcestershire sauce, 1/4 cup of soy sauce and 1/4 cup of honey. Incorporate 2 tablespoons of fresh minced garlic, 2 teaspoons of kosher salt and 2 teaspoons of black pepper.
Add the marinade to the steaks in a plastic bag, and marinate for one to two days. To cook the steaks, grill them over high heat for three to four minutes on each side.
To make Marsh's beef kebobs, cut the Omaha Steaks beef sirloin tips into 1 1/4-inch pieces, and season with pepper. Thread four 12-inch metal skewers alternatively with beef, lime wedges and onion wedges. Thread four additional skewers with 1 container of grape or cherry tomatoes.
For the mojo sauce, combine in a bowl 1/4 cup of orange juice, 1/4 cup of lime juice, 3 tablespoons of finely chopped oregano, 2 tablespoons of finely chopped fresh parsley and 3 tablespoons of olive oil. Add 1 teaspoon of ground cumin, 3/4 teaspoon of salt and 1 teaspoon of minced garlic.
Grill the tomato kebobs and the beef kebobs, and serve them drizzled with the mojo sauce.
