FlatoutFlatbread.com offers easy flatbread recipes on its website; recipes include a chicken and cheddar flatbread quesadilla and a strawberry stacker, which are both healthy meal and dessert alternatives.
To make the chicken and cheddar flatbread quesadilla, gather a piece of Flatout flatbread, 4 ounces of cooked and cubed chicken breast, 2 ounces of shredded cheddar cheese and 4 thin avocado slices. Cover half of the flatbread in the cheddar cheese, and top it with the chicken breast and avocado slices. Fold the flatbread in half, and place it on a hot pan to cook on each side for about one minute or until cheese melts. Cut the quesadilla into wedges.
Required ingredients for the strawberry stacker include 1 beaten egg, 1 teaspoon of skim milk, 1 teaspoon of vanilla and a 1/2 cup of hulled and sliced fresh strawberries, in addition to 1 teaspoon of powdered sugar, 1/2 ounce of plain, non-fat yogurt and some non-fat cooking spray. Combine the egg, milk and vanilla in a bowl, and whisk the ingredients together.
Set the mixture aside, and combine the strawberries and sugar separately. Cut the Flatout flatbread into 4 pieces, and dip each piece into the wet mixture. Spray a skillet with cooking spray, and cook both sides of the flatbread at medium-high until it's golden brown. Assemble the dish by placing one Flatout piece on the plate, then spreading 1 teaspoon of yogurt on top, and topping it off with the strawberries. Repeat the process until all four flatbread pieces are used, and top the stack with powdered sugar and the remaining strawberry slices.
