Ina Garten of The Food Network has a smoked salmon dipped recipe. To make it, gather cream cheese, sour cream, lemon juice, fresh dill and horseradish. Also, gather kosher salt, black pepper and minced smoked salmon.
Place 8 ounces of softened cream cheese in an electric mixer, then mix it with the paddle attachment until it becomes smooth. To the cream cheese, add 1/2 cup of sour cream, 1 tablespoon of freshly squeezed lemon juice, 1 tablespoon of fresh dill and 1 teaspoon of drained, prepared horseradish. In addition, add 1/2 teaspoon of kosher salt and 1/4 teaspoon of pepper, then mix well. After thoroughly mixing these ingredients, add 1/4 pound of minced smoked salmon.
Chill the smoked salmon dip before serving, and serve it with a variety of crackers or cut up vegetables, such as cucumber, peppers, green beans or radishes. People also report serving the smoked salmon dip with pretzel chips, which make it taste like salmon and cream cheese bagels. It can also be eaten with breads, such as a baguette or a bagel. The amount of salt in this recipe can be eliminated or halved. Reducing the salt also helps to enhance the flavor of the salmon.
