A good recipe for Reese's peanut butter pie is the "I love peanut butter pie" recipe from Hershey's. The recipe uses Reese's mini peanut butter cups and a homemade peanut butter crumb crust.
To prepare the crust, preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit, and stir together 1/2 cup powdered sugar and 1 1/2 cups crushed vanilla wafer cookies. In a microwave-safe bowl, mix 1/4 cup Reese's creamy peanut butter along with 3 tablespoons margarine or butter, and heat in the microwave for 30 seconds at medium strength or until melted. Mix the peanut butter mixture with the crumb mixture, pressing it into the sides and bottom of a 9-inch pie plate. Bake for five minutes, and let the crust cool completely before finishing the pie recipe.
Coarsely chop 1 cup mini Reese's peanut butter cups, and set them aside. In a large mixing bowl, combine 1/2 cup Reese's creamy peanut butter, one 3-ounce package of softened cream cheese and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract. Beat until smooth, gradually adding 1/2 cup milk a 1 cup powdered sugar. Fold in one 8-ounce tub of thawed non-dairy whipped topping, and stir in the peanut butter cups. Pour the filling into the crust, and freeze for several hours.
Before serving, soften the pie slightly, and garnish individual slices with whipped topping and whole mini Reese's peanut butter cups.
