Kraft offers a simple, highly-rated pumpkin fluff dessert recipe on its website. It uses only four ingredients and requires one hour and 10 minutes to prepare and chill. The recipe is for pumpkin fluff dip.
Combine one 15-ounce can of pumpkin puree with one package of instant vanilla pudding mix in a large bowl. Add the dry pudding mix directly to the pumpkin puree, without following the package directions to prepare the pudding. Add one teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice to the bowl, and whisk the mixture until completely blended.
Stir in one 8-ounce tub of whipped topping until well-mixed. Refrigerate the completed pumpkin fluff for one hour, then serve with cookies or graham crackers for dipping. Kraft suggests serving the fluff in a small, hollowed-out fresh pumpkin.
If prepared pumpkin pie spice is unavailable, make it at home. To make pumpkin pie spice, combine 3 tablespoons of ground cinnamon, 2 teaspoons of ground ginger and 2 teaspoons of ground nutmeg. Add 1 1/2 teaspoons of ground allspice and 1 1/2 teaspoons of ground cloves. Mix well, and use 1 teaspoon of the mixture in place of purchased pumpkin pie spice. Store the remainder in an airtight container for future use.
