Tasty Kitchen publishes a recipe for orange Crush cake from The Pioneer Woman. The recipe calls for orange Crush soda and features a powdered sugar glaze.
To prepare the recipe, cream together 3 sticks of softened butter with 3 cups sugar in the bowl of an electric mixer equipped with a paddle attachment. Add 5 whole eggs one at a time. Combine 3 cups all-purpose flour and 1/2 teaspoon salt in a bowl, and add the mixture to the creamed mixture 1 cup at a time. Turn the mixer on low, and slowly add 1 cup plus 2 tablespoons of orange soda. If desired, add 1 tablespoon orange zest and 2 drops of orange food coloring.
Spray a Bundt cake pan with nonstick baking spray. Spoon the batter into the pan, and bake the cake one hour to one hour and 10 minutes. Test for doneness by inserting a toothpick in the center; if it comes out clean, remove the cake from the oven.
Make the glaze for the cake by combining 3 cups of sifted powder sugar, a pinch of salt, 1/4 cup of orange soda and 1 tablespoon orange juice. Drizzle the glaze over the cake, and garnish with orange zest.
