- 2 cups pretzels, crushed
- 3/4 cup butter, melted
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 8-ounce package cream cheese
- 1 8-ounce container of whipped topping, such as Cool Whip
- 2 packages of strawberry gelatin
- 2 cups boiling water
- 1 8-ounce can crushed pineapple
- 2 packages of frozen strawberries or 4 cups sliced fresh strawberries
- Prepare the oven
- Prepare the crust
- Mix the cream filling
- Prepare the gelatin and fruit
To preheat the oven, turn it on to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
Stir the pretzels, butter and 3 tablespoons of sugar together in a large bowl. Press the crust into a 9 by 13 inch baking pan. Bake the crust for 7 minutes, and then remove it from the oven to cool.
Mix the 3/4 cup sugar and the cream cheese together with an electric mixer. Fold the whipped topping into the mixture. Spread the cream topping over the crust and chill in the fridge.
Mix the gelatin packages in the boiling water. Let the mixture cool before adding the pineapple and strawberries. Layer the gelatin and fruit mixture over the crust and cream mixture. Put the dessert in the fridge to set before serving.
Serve the salad in slices and top it with whipped cream or whipped topping.
