Combine the paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, dried oregano and thyme with the 2 tablespoons of salt and 1 tablespoon of black pepper. Set aside.
Melt the butter in a saucepan and add 1 cup of yellow onions to cook for 3 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for a further minute, stirring occasionally, then add the tomatoes and cream to cook for another 5 minutes. Add the vinegar and sugar and allow to simmer until the sauce thickens.
Remove the spine from each cabbage leaf, pat them dry and lay on paper towels.
Melt 2 teaspoons of butter and cook another cup of chopped onions, stirring until they begin to caramelize. Add the chopped garlic and cook for another minute then remove from the heat. Combine the pork, beef, rice and Creole seasoning with salt, pepper, egg and the cooked onions.
Spoon the filling into the center of each cabbage leaf and roll. Layer the rolls with the sauce in a baking dish and cover with foil. Bake at 350 F for up to 2 hours, or until the meat is cooked through. Serve with the sauce.
