To prepare Taste of Home’s cranberry chutney recipe, combine a 12-ounce package of fresh or frozen cranberries, 1 1/4 cups of sugar, 3/4 cup of water and 1 large chopped tart apple in a saucepan. Add 2 teaspoons of ground cinnamon, 1 teaspoon of ground ginger and 1/4 teaspoon of ground cloves. Stir the mixture constantly, and bring it to a boil. Reduce the heat, and simmer for 15 to 20 more minutes or until the mixture thickens and the apple pieces are tender.
Store the chutney in the refrigerator. Serving suggestions for cranberry chutney include serving it as a condiment with chicken, ham or pork or serving it with cream cheese and crackers.
