To make Kraft's under-the-sea-salad, first drain one 15.5-ounce can of pears in light syrup. Reserve 3/4 cup of the syrup and dice the pears. Pour one package of lime Jell-o into a bowl and dissolve in 1 cup boiling water. Stir in the pear syrup and 1 tablespoon lemon juice. Pour 1 1/4 cups of the Jell-O mixture into an 8-by-4-inch loaf pan and refrigerate for about one hour or until just set. In a bowl, combine the remaining Jell-O mixture with 6 ounces cream cheese. Stir in the diced pears and 1/8 teaspoon cinnamon. Spoon this mixture over the set Jell-O layer in the pan and refrigerate for at least 4 hours.
For CopyKat.com's Furr's light green Jell-O salad recipe, dissolve two packages of lime Jell-O in 2 cups boiling water. Add 1 cup cold water and stir well. Add 20 ounces drained crushed pineapple, 16 ounces cottage cheese and 8 ounces thawed whipped topping. Mix well. Pour the mixture into an 13-inch square baking pan and top with 1/4 cup crushed pecans. Refrigerate until set.
