A good recipe for deep fried chicken tenders should be easy to prepare, require simple and easy to find ingredients and have a short cooking time. Also known as chicken fingers or chicken strips, chicken tenders are boneless strips of white meat taken from the chicken's breastbones.
The following is a good recipe for chicken tenders.
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 2 pounds chicken tenderloin strips
- enough oil for deep frying
- 2 tablespoons Parmesan cheese
Step 1: Whisk the egg in a shallow bowl. In another bowl, mix the flour, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and ground black pepper thoroughly. Dip the chicken in the whisked egg and then the flour mixture one strip at a time. Set aside.
Step 2: In an electric skillet, heat the oil to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Alternatively, a deep fryer may also be used.
Step 3: Fry the chicken in small batches for 2 to 3 minutes on both sides, or 4 to 6 minutes in a deep fryer, until they are no longer pink.
Step 4: Drain the fried chicken tenders on paper towels. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese before serving.
