To make the cookies, melt 4 ounces of unsweetened baking chocolate, and then allow it to cool. Add it to a large mixing bowl, and combine it with 2 cups of granulated sugar and 2 teaspoons of vanilla. Add 4 eggs, one at a time, stirring thoroughly between each egg. Mix in 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 2 teaspoons of baking powder and 1/2 teaspoon of salt.
Stir the ingredients until thoroughly incorporated, and then cover the bowl with plastic wrap. Let the dough set in the refrigerator for a minimum of three hours.
When you are ready to bake, preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit, and coat a baking sheet with nonstick spray or vegetable shortening. Take a teaspoon of the dough, and form it into a ball. Add 1/2 cup of powdered sugar to a shallow dish, and roll the dough ball in the sugar to coat.
Place the coated cookie dough balls on the baking sheet, allowing approximately 2 inches between each cookie. Bake the dough for 10 to 12 minutes. The cookies are ready when pressing gently on the center does not leave an imprint.Learn more about Desserts
