Cajun Shrimp Boil from Williams-Sonoma is a good recipe that is easy to make. Jumbo shrimp are boiled with onions, garlic, potatoes, corn, sausage and spicy seasonings.
To make Cajun Shrimp Boil, fill a large pot with water and set it over high heat. Add 6 tablespoons of crab boil seasoning, such as Old Bay. Add 2 quartered large yellow onions, 1 halved and unpeeled head of garlic, and 2 halved lemons. Bring the mixture to a boil, and add 2 pounds of small red potatoes. Reduce the heat to low, and simmer the potatoes for 15 to 20 minutes or until they are tender. Add 4 ears of corn that have been cut into thirds, along with 1 1/2 pounds of smoked pork or chicken sausages. The sausage should be cut into 1-inch-thick slices.
Cook these ingredients for 5 more minutes, then remove the pan from the heat and add 3 pounds of large unpeeled shrimp. Cover the pan and let it stand for approximately 4 minutes or until the shrimp is opaque. Drain the ingredients using a colander, and then return them to the pan or place them into bowls for serving. This recipe serves six people.
