To make Taste of Home's mixed berry pie, begin by mixing together 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, 1/4 teaspoon salt and 1 cup cold butter until crumbly. Gradually add 6 to 8 tablespoons of ice water, tossing the dough with a fork to mix it. Press the dough together, and divide it into two portions. Wrap each in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least one hour.
Prepare the filling by combining 1/3 cup water, 1/4 cup cornstarch, 1 cup sugar and a pinch of salt in a saucepan. Stir until smooth, and then add 1 cup fresh blueberries. Bring to a boil, and boil for two minutes while stirring constantly.
Allow the blueberry mixture to cool slightly, and then add 1 cup raspberries, 1 cup halved strawberries, 3/4 cup blackberries and 1 tablespoon lemon juice. Roll out one portion of the pie dough, place it in a 9-inch pie plate, and add the filling. Dot with 2 tablespoons butter. Roll out the remaining pie dough, cut it into strips, and arrange them on top of the pie in a lattice pattern. Bake the pie for 10 minutes at 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Reduce the temperature to 350 degrees Fahrenheit, and bake for an additional 45 to 50 minutes.
