Kraft Foods, the maker of Miracle Whip dressing, features a chocolate cake billed as the "most requested." Substitute Miracle Whip light dressing for the regular dressing to reduce the calories and fat content.
For the Most Requested Chocolate Cake from Kraft Foods, melt 6 ounces unsweetened chocolate in a microwave. While allowing the chocolate to cool, beat 1 1/2 cups Miracle Whip dressing, 2 1/4 cups brown sugar and 2 teaspoons vanilla until well blended. Beat in 3 eggs and the cooled chocolate.
In a separate bowl, mix 2 cups flour, 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda and 1/4 teaspoon salt. Alternate adding the flour mixture with 1 cup boiling water to the wet ingredients until the batter is well mixed.
Line two 9-inch round cake pans with parchment paper and cooking spray. Pour the batter evenly into the two pans. Bake the cakes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Cool the cakes for 10 minutes before removing them from the pans. Remove the parchment paper, and cook them on a wire rack until completely cool.
For the frosting, melt 4 ounces unsweetened baking chocolate with 1/4 cup butter in a microwave, stirring every 30 seconds. Allow to cool. Add 3 cups powdered sugar, 2/3 cups milk and 2 teaspoons vanilla to the chocolate, beating until well blended.
