A meatball recipe that includes grape jelly consists of 1 pound of ground beef, 1/2 cup dry bread crumbs, 1/4 cup milk, 1 teaspoon salt and a few other ingredients. This recipe takes 40 minutes to prepare and makes 36 meatballs.
To make the meatballs, combine the previously mentioned ingredients in a large bowl with 1/2 cup minced onion, 2 large beaten eggs, 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce and 1/4 teaspoon pepper. Mix until the ingredients are well-combined. Shape into 36 1-inch meatballs.
Over medium heat, cook the meatballs for 10 to 15 minutes until they start to brown. After cooking, drain them on paper towels. In a large saucepan, add a 12-ounce jar of grape jelly and 1 12-ounce jar of chili sauce and cook over medium heat for about three minutes until well-combined.
Place the meatballs in one layer in the pan, coating evenly with the grape jelly sauce. Cover the pan and let it simmer for about 10 minutes or until the sauce is bubbling and the meatballs are entirely cooked. The meatballs can now be moved to a chafing dish or slow cooker to keep warm. This dish can be served alone or with fancy toothpicks for easy eating.
