Martha Stewart's double chocolate cookie recipe contains M&Ms and is a reliable and tasty option. It can be made by preheating the oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit, making the cookie dough in two stages (the first using melted butter and chocolate, the second eggs and sugar), mixing it together and then baking.
The following ingredients are needed to make double chocolate M&M cookies:
- 3/4 of a cup of M&Ms
- 1/2 cup of cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
- 1 cup of unsalted butter
- 2 large eggs
- 4 ounces of good quality milk chocolate (chopped)
- 1 1/2 cups of sugar
- 1 cup of flour
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- Melt the chocolate
- Mix the cookie dough
- Bake the cookies
First, preheat the oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit, then mix the flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt together. Next, melt the butter and chocolate in a heat-resistant bowl suspended over a pan of boiling water. Make sure the water does not touch the bowl or the chocolate will burn.
Combine the chocolate mixture with the eggs and vanilla in a mixing bowl. Mix at medium speed in a food mixer; once combined, gradually add the flour mixture, followed by the M&Ms. Gently fold the M&Ms to make sure they are distributed evenly.
Use a spoon or ice cream scoop to place cookie balls on a baking parchment lined baking tray and bake for around 15 minutes before leaving to cool on a wire rack.
