The Food Network's lime-shaped margarita gelatin shots and the Cooking Channel's lychee gelatin shots are good Jell-O shot recipes. One recipe uses orange liqueur and chili-infused tequila. The second recipe uses light rum.
The Food Network recipe combines 1 3-ounce packet of lime-flavored gelatin, 1/2 cup orange liqueur, 1/2 cup chili-infused tequila, 15 limes and kosher salt. Bring 1 cup of water to a boil, add the lime gelatin, and stir until it dissolves. Add the orange liqueur and tequila.
Cut the limes in half, and scoop out the flesh. Place the lime halves in a mini muffin tin. Pour the combined ingredients into each lime. Refrigerate the limes for approximately four hours.
The Cooking Channel?s recipe combines 2 boxes of pineapple-flavored gelatin, 1 teaspoon sugar, 1 cup water, 1 can of lychees in syrup and 1/4 cup light rum. Bring the water to a boil. Add the boiling water to the gelatin and sugar, and stir to dissolve. Add 1 cup of the lychee syrup and the rum to the mixture. Pour the ingredients into small shot glasses. Cut the lychee?s in half, and place one in each shot glass. Allow the ingredients to refrigerate until the gelatin sets.
