Some good imperial crab recipes include Eastern shore crab imperial and crab imperial. These recipes combine crabmeat, butter, mustard and mayonnaise into a casserole topped with breadcrumbs. Some of the recipes call for different ingredients such as Worcestershire sauce, parsley and milk.
Make a crab imperial recipe by blending 2 tablespoon of parsley, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, 1/8 teaspoon of pepper and 1 pinch of cayenne pepper in a food processor. Add 2/3 cup of mayonnaise and 1/2 teaspoon of dry mustard, and blend until smooth. Mix 1 pound of crabmeat into the mixture, and spoon everything into a casserole dish. Tear and blend two slices of white bread into pieces, and toss with 2 tablespoons of melted, unsalted butter. Sprinkle the breadcrumbs over the top of the casserole. Bake at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 12 to 15 minutes.
In conjunction with the mayonnaise and mustard mixture, add between one dash and 1/2 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce. For a creamier casserole, try stirring 2 tablespoons of butter into 2 tablespoons of flour and whisking in 1/2 cup of milk. Mix in the salt, mustard, Worcestershire sauce and 1 teaspoon of vinegar. Stir in 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise, and fold in crab mixture. Sprinkle the casserole with bread crumbs moistened with 1/4 cup of milk.
