Celebrity cook Rachael Ray has a recipe for sloppy Joes called Super Sloppy Joes. It uses ground beef sirloin, onion and bell pepper as ingredients, with added sauces and seasonings. Ingredients include Worcestershire sauce, ketchup and tomato paste. It takes 10 minutes to prepare and 15 minutes to cook, producing 4 sloppy Joes. It is rated as easy to make by the Food Network.
According to Rachael Ray's recipe, start by heating a skillet over medium high heat, and add 1 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil. Next, take 1 1/4 pound of ground beef and spread it into the pan, beginning to break it up.
Take 1/4 cup brown sugar and mix it with 2 teaspoons to 1 tablespoon of steak seasoning blend. Add this mixture to the meat. When the meat has browned, add 1 chopped medium onion and 1 chopped small bell pepper to the mix. Reduce the heat to medium, and cook the food for 5 minutes with 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce. Finally, add 2 cups tomato sauce and 2 tablespoons of tomato paste, stirring it in to combine. Simmer for 5 more minutes at a reduced heat. Scoop onto toasted, buttered buns. Serve with sliced tomatoes, pickles or a side of potato salad.
