Homemade catfish bait recipes include Juggs Davis stink bait, Cajun mud bait and Jack's Cat Attack. To make Juggs Davis stink bait, melt 1 pound of cheese and mix with 6 to 8 ounces of raw pork, 1 head of chopped garlic, 1 can of dog food and 12 dead minnows. Use a food processor for best results.
Cajun mud bait requires approximately 24 dead minnows left outside to age for a day. Once aged, mix the minnows with 1/2 cup of Parmesan cheese, 1/4 cup of molasses, 1 box of cherry Jell-O, 1 cup of bread crumbs and 3 tablespoons each of soy sauce and onion salt. Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place inside plastic zip bags. Cajun mud bait may also attract carp in addition to catfish.
To make Jack's Cat Attack, blend together 1 pound of aged chicken livers and a package of hot dogs. In a gallon container, place half a loaf of shredded bread before pouring the chicken and hot dog mixture over it. Add 1 can of corn and 2 cans of nacho cheese in addition to 1/4 bottle of Tabasco sauce and a dozen chopped worms. Once kneaded, store the dough in an area that receives plenty of sun.
