A good grape salad recipe is the creamy grape salad from Taste of Home that includes softened cream cheese, sour cream, sugar, brown sugar and grapes. Another good recipe combines grapes with a mixture of sour cream and brown sugar.
Make creamy grape salad by creaming together one 8-ounce package of softened cream cheese, 1 cup sour cream, 1/3 cup sugar and 2 teaspoons vanilla extract. Stir in 2 pounds of seedless red grapes and 2 pounds of seedless green grapes. Pour the mixture in a bowl, and chill. Serve topped with 3 tablespoons brown sugar and 3 tablespoons chopped pecans.
Using another good grape salad recipe, mix 2 pounds of seedless grapes and 2 cups sour cream in a baking dish. Top with 1 cup brown sugar, and broil in an oven until the brown sugar caramelizes. Transfer the salad to a refrigerator, and chill. Sprinkle the salad with 3/4 cup toasted pecans before serving.
A Southern take on the dish requires you to mix 8 ounces cream cheese and 8 ounces sour cream with 1/2 cup powdered sugar and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract. Stir in 8 cups of grapes. In another bowl, beat 1 cup heavy whipping cream, 2 teaspoons powdered sugar and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract until the cream is whipped. Fold the whipping cream and cream cheese together, and chill. Top with 1/4 cup light brown sugar and 1/2 cup chopped pecans.
