To prepare Rachel Ray's garlic bread, combine 4 crushed cloves of garlic, 2 tablespoons of butter and 2 tablespoons of extra-virgin olive oil in a microwave safe dish. Heat the mixture in the microwave for one minute. Alternatively, combine the ingredients in a small saucepan and heat at a moderate-low temperature for three minutes. Set the mixture aside.
Split one loaf of crusty bread, and toast in the broiler until golden brown. Brush the toasted bread with the garlic oil mixture, and sprinkle either grated Pamigiano or Romano cheese and chopped fresh parsley on top.
