A tomato soup made from tomatoes, chicken broth, garlic, vinegar and shallots is a great fat-burning soup recipe. Capsaicin helps accelerate the rate at which the body burns fat.
To make the soup, crush 3 cloves of garlic and allow them to sit for five to 10 minutes. Allowing crushed garlic to rest maximizes its health benefits. While the garlic is resting, combine a 14 1/2-ounce can of stewed tomatoes, 1 1/2 cups of chicken stock or broth, 3 ounces of sliced shallots and 1/2 teaspoon apple cider vinegar in a food processor and puree until the mixture is smooth.
Coat the bottom of a saucepan with approximately 1 tablespoon of olive oil and heat. Add the garlic and 1/2 teaspoon chili powder. Stir for 30 seconds, then add the tomato mixture. Cook for approximately 30 minutes over medium heat. Add 2 tablespoons of basil and salt and pepper to taste.
Aside from capsaicin, garlic also contains nutrients that promote weight loss. To make the soup heartier with even more fat-burning foods, add some cabbage, lettuce or watercress and/or some chicken. Chicken is high in B vitamins that help with nutrient absorption and increased metabolism. Leafy greens are loaded with vitamin C, another important fat-burning nutrient.
