A few good crab dip recipes include hot jalapeno crab dip, baked crab dip with cream cheese and horseradish and cold crab dip with avocado. Crab dip can be served with croutons, bread, crackers or corn chips for dipping.
Hot jalapeno crab dip is made by combining 1 pound lump crabmeat, chopped garlic, grated Monterey Jack cheese, pickled jalapenos, hot sauce, mayonnaise, Worcestershire sauce and salt in a bowl. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese on top, and bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit until golden brown.
Baked crab dip can also be made with crab meat, mayonnaise, cream cheese, green onions, salt, pepper, whole milk, horseradish, Tabasco sauce and slivered almonds. Beat cream cheese and mayonnaise to combine and add all ingredients except the almonds. Sprinkle almonds on top and bake at 375 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown.
Crab dip can also be prepared cold. One recipe uses crab meat, avocados, lemon juice, chopped onion, Worcestershire sauce, sour cream, cream cheese and salt. Pulse the onion, lemon juice, avocado and Worcestershire sauce in a blender until combined. Add the cream cheese, sour cream and salt, and pulse a few more times. Stir in the crab meat and chill until served. Since avocado discolors, this dip is best when prepared no more than a few hours before serving.
