To make a Cosmopolitan drink, mix vodka, orange liqueur, cranberry juice and lime juice. Shake the cocktail with ice and serve with an orange zest garnish.
The Cosmopolitan is a martini-style cocktail that made its debut in San Francisco in the 1980s. The television show "Sex and the City" popularized the drink. This Cosmopolitan recipe was originally published on Jamie Oliver's Drinks Tube. It is fast and easy to make.

This drink tastes best served chilled. To chill a glass, fill it with ice cubes.
Add some ice to a cocktail shaker. Add all of the ingredients to the shaker. Shake or stir the mixture until it is thoroughly blended.
Remove the ice from the glass. Strain the cocktail into the chilled glass.
Cut a piece of orange zest from a fresh orange and use it to garnish the drink.
Home bartenders can adjust the recipe to taste. For example, the Absolut Cosmopolitan recipe uses 2 parts vodka, 1 part lime juice, 1 part orange liqueur and only 1/2 part cranberry juice.
