To make a beef and broccoli recipe similar to Panda Express’, first create a sauce with 2 tablespoons of oyster sauce, 2 tablespoons of water, 1 tablespoon of rice wine and 1 tablespoon of soy sauce. Add 1 tablespoon each of brown sugar and cornstarch. Thoroughly mix the ingredients together, and set the sauce aside.
Cut 1 pound of flank steak into thin strips. Mix together 1 tablespoon of cornstarch and 2 tablespoons of rice wine in a bowl, and add the steak strips. Toss the strips in the wine mixture to thoroughly coat them. Allow the meat to set for around 15 minutes.
Steam 1 pound of broccoli florets in a steamer until they turn a bright color, but are still slightly crisp. Heat 2 tablespoons of grapeseed oil with a splash of sesame oil in a wok or frying pan. Place the marinated meat strips in a single layer along the bottom of the pan or wok, and cook them until brown.
Flip the strips, and add 2 teaspoons of minced garlic, 1 teaspoon of minced ginger, the steamed broccoli and the sauce you prepared earlier. Continue to stir all the ingredients until they are evenly distributed and the sauce is thick. Serve the beef and broccoli over cooked rice.
