Oreo celebration cake, chocolate-covered Oreo cookie cake and Oreo cake are a few good cake recipes that use Oreo cookies. These and other Oreo recipes are available on SnackWorks.com, KraftRecipes.com and SeriousEats.com.
To make Kraft's chocolate-covered Oreo cookie cake, first preheat an oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Prepare 1 package of devil's food cake mix according to box instructions, and bake the cake in two 9-inch round cake pans. Let the cakes cool for about 10 minutes before turning them out. Place 1/4 cup butter and 4 ounces semi-sweet chocolate in a small microwavable bowl. Microwave on high for about 2 minutes or until the butter melts. Stir together and let cool.
In a separate bowl, beat 8 ounces cream cheese with 1/2 cup sugar. Stir in 2 cups thawed whipped topping and 12 coarsely crushed Oreo cookies. Place one cooled cake on a plate and spread the cream cheese mixture over the top. Place the second cake on top of the filling, and then top the cake with the chocolate glaze.
Snack Works' Oreo celebration cake recipe is similar, but in this case, the cake is made from scratch. The recipe also uses buttercream icing and crushed Oreo cookies in place of the whipped topping mixture.
