Betty Crocker offers a taco bake recipe that uses its Bisquick mix as one of the main ingredients. The recipe consists of using ground beef, several types of vegetables, taco seasoning and Bisquick to create a one-pan meal.
To begin, preheat the oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit. Prepare a large casserole dish by greasing the inside surfaces, and set it to the side for later use.
In a skillet, brown 1 pound of ground beef with 1 medium diced onion, draining off the excess grease. After cooking the ground beef, mix in 1 package of Old El Paso taco seasoning, a 16-ounce can of tomato sauce and a can of drained whole kernel corn. Scoop the ground beef mixture into the casserole dish, and sprinkle it with 2 cups of shredded cheese.
In a bowl, mix 2 cups of original Bisquick mix with 1 cup of milk and 2 eggs. The batter should have a smooth consistency. Once mixed, pour the batter over the ground beef mixture.
Place the casserole dish in the oven, and bake for approximately 30 to 35 minutes. To ensure that the taco bake is done, insert a knife into the center. If the blade comes out clean, it is done. Allow the dish to rest for 10 minutes before cutting and serving.
