Barilla's Three Cheese Manicotti recipe creates a layer of Barilla's tomato sauce, followed by layers of cheese-stuffed manicotti, more sauce and a cheese topping. After assembling the dish, cover the dish with foil, and bake at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 30 to 35 minutes or until heated through.
First, boil all of the manicotti for five minutes. Drain and rinse in cold water, then set aside. Mix one 15-ounce container of ricotta cheese with 2 cups of shredded mozzarella, 1/2 cup of chopped parsley, 1 teaspoon salt and 1/2 teaspoon of ground black pepper. Blend these ingredients in a large bowl.
Pour 1 cup of Barilla Tomato & Basil Sauce into a 9-by-13-inch baking dish. Fill the manicotti shells with the cheese mixture and place them on top of the sauce in the dish. Pour the remaining sauce over the manicotti and top with 2 tablespoons of freshly grated parmegiano-reggiano cheese. The dish is ready to serve after baking.
Variations of this recipe call for the addition of vegetables like spinach, mushrooms, garlic and tomatoes. Other Barilla sauces, such as Spicy Marinara or the All Natural Meat Red, can be used in place of the sauce called for in the recipe.
