Super Bowl Sunday guests can enjoy a fun game day menu featuring a spicy cheddar cheese football appetizer, pigskins in a blanket and easy chicken wings. These recipes take 15 to 20 minutes to prepare and make enough servings for 10 people.
Make a creamy cheese football appetizer by combining 3 packages of softened cream cheese, 3 cups cheddar cheese, and 1 cup Romano cheese with 3/4 cup sour cream and 1 teaspoon each hot sauce and Worcestershire sauce. Add salt and pepper to taste, and whip ingredients to blend. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, spoon the mixture onto the paper, and cover with plastic wrap. Mold the mixture into a football shape, and remove the plastic wrap. Chop 3 cups toasted pecans in a food processor, and cover the cheese mold with the nuts. Chop 1 cup dried cranberries in the food processor, and place evenly over the football-shaped cheese. Draw a football lace pattern on top of football using Siracha sauce, and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
To make pigskins in a blanket, separate 2 cans of refrigerated crescent dinner rolls into 16 triangles. Cut triangle sections lengthwise into three individual narrow triangles. Wrap 48 cocktail sausages in dough triangles to create a blanket. Place sausages seam side down on two ungreased baking sheets, and bake until golden brown.
Make easy chicken wings by combining 2 cups brown sugar, 1 cup yellow mustard and 1/4 cup soy sauce. Marinade 5 pounds chicken wings in a plastic food bag. Refrigerate 1/4 cup marinade, pour the rest over chicken wings, and marinate for two hours. Bake wings for 30 minutes, baste with reserved marinade, and continue cooking and basting another 30 minutes.
