Fruits that are high in potassium include bananas, kiwi and peaches. Many dried fruits have high concentrations of potassium. A few examples include dried apricots, raisins, prunes, dates and dried coconuts.
Bananas are often associated with potassium but they don't necessarily have the highest amount. A medium banana has about 422 milligrams of potassium in it, but it is outclassed by a similar-sized plantain which has 893 milligrams and a papaya which has about 781 milligrams. Dried fruits have the highest concentration of potassium per cup. A cup of dates contains 1,168 milligrams of potassium compared to a cup of bananas which has 537 milligrams.
