Parsley, cilantro and other fresh herbs may be chopped by hand or in the food processor, then tightly packed into freezer bags and stored in the freezer. To use the frozen herbs, remove from the freezer bag and detach the portion desired, then return the remaining herbs to the freezer.
Fresh herbs may also be frozen in ice cube trays. The herbs should be chopped into small pieces, either by hand or using a food processor, then pressed firmly into the trays. Next, drizzle a small amount of water over the ice tray sections. The herbs form ice cubes when thoroughly frozen. The cubes may popped out of the ice tray to be used as individual portions in recipes.
