How Do You Freeze Heavy Whipping Cream?

Although there are several ways to freeze heavy whipping cream, one easy and effective way involves pouring the cream into standard-size ice cube trays. When the cubes freeze, transfer them to a plastic bag and use one cube for every 2 tablespoons of cream called for in a recipe.

  1. Pour into ice cube trays

Pour the heavy cream into standard-size ice cube trays, filling each opening to its maximum capacity.

  2. Freeze the ice cube tray

Place the ice cube tray in the freezer for about three hours, or until the heavy cream freezes completely.

  3. Store the cubes

Transfer the frozen cubes to a freezer bag and store until use.
