To freeze apples, peel, core and slice the fruit, then treat to avoid browning, and place in a Ziploc bag or other airtight container. Treating the apples before freezing requires water and lemon juice.
Use a swivel peeler or an apple peeler equipped with a core slicer to cut the apples into smaller pieces. Fill a bowl with water and approximately 1 tablespoon of lemon juice. Dip the apple slices into this mixture, and place the fruit on a plate or baking tray. Freeze the slices for several hours prior to securing the apples in a plastic bag or storage container. Return the apples to the freezer in the new container, and keep frozen until desired use.
