Some foods to never eat include anything deep fried, stick margarine and swordfish, notes HowStuffWorks. Other foods to avoid include processed baked goods and bagels, bacon and store-bought frosting, states Fitness Magazine. Sodas also contain more sugar than what dietitians recommend a person consumes per day.
Because of its high mercury content, consumers should not eat swordfish, notes HowStuffWorks. Too much mercury causes damage to the brain and nervous system, and pregnant mothers put their unborn children at risk by consuming it. Stick margarine contains saturated or trans-unsaturated fats that raise bad cholesterol levels and increase the chance of heart attack; deep-fried foods increase the risk of certain types of cancers, increase the risk of stroke and cause inflammation.
Store-bought frosting that comes from a can not only contains trans-unsaturated fats, but it also contains a high amount of sugar that leads to premature wrinkles, states Fitness Magazine. Because they contain so much sugar and preservatives, processed baked goods cause bloating and lead to skin problems, such as acne and rosacea. Bagels have a high glycemic index that increases the body’s production of insulin, leading to inflammation. While bacon contains only about 45 calories per strip, its fat and sodium content are extremely high, which causes digestive and heart problems.
