Some foods that contain a lot of yeast include baked goods, including cookies, bread, rolls, pretzels and cakes. Some other foods that contain a lot of yeast have vinegar-based recipes, including mustard, barbecue sauce, pickles and salad dressings.
Many foods that are commercially prepared contain high amounts of yeast, including soy sauce, sauerkraut and apple cider. Many packages of potato chips, nuts and soups also contain high amounts of yeast. Aged and ripened cheeses contain high amounts of yeast. Because of the fermentation process, beer and wine always contains high amounts of yeast. Distilled vodka, pear brandy and grape rum also contain yeast.
