According to the Whole Grains Council, some of the most common types of whole grain foods include rice, oats, quinoa, rye, sorghum, spelt, teff and wheat. While most of these grains can be consumed on their own, it is common for them to be used to make breads or patties for easier consumption. To be considered a whole grain, the bran, germ and endosperm must be present.
