To easily roast garlic, first cut the tip off of a head of garlic. Next, put the head on a sheet of aluminum foil and sprinkle it with olive oil. Wrap the foil around the garlic head and roast it for about 30 minutes at 400 degrees.
Once the roasted garlic cools to the touch, use a knife to pierce the skin of each clove. Squeeze the garlic out of the skin. Put any unused roasted cloves in a tightly covered container and keep them in the refrigerator. To use roasted garlic, mash it with a fork and add it to soups and sauces or spread it on bread.
