Kraft offers an easy-to-make version of Southern banana pudding made with JELL-O instant pudding. The recipe also calls for bananas, vanilla wafers and Cool Whip whipped topping. It takes 20 minutes to prepare and serves 14 people. About.com offers a similar recipe using sweetened condensed milk.
To make Kraft’s JELL-O banana pudding, combine 3 cups of cold milk with 2 3.4-ounce packages of JELL-O brand vanilla-flavored instant pudding. Beat the pudding mix and milk with a whisk for approximately two minutes. Allow the mixture to stand for five minutes.
On the bottom and along the sides of a 2-quart serving bowl, arrange half of the vanilla wafers. Begin layering 30 vanilla wafers and the slices from 3 bananas over top the vanilla wafers. Repeat layers until the vanilla wafers and bananas are gone. Cover the top of the banana pudding with 1 8-ounce tub of thawed Cool Whip topping. Refrigerate the dessert for three hours prior to serving.
