What Is an Easy Strawberry Jam Recipe?

An easy recipe for strawberry jam is Ina Garten's, which takes just under 3 hours to prepare. It combines strawberries with sugar and orange liqueur, brought to a boil and cooked with apple and blueberries. The mixture is then cooled for immediate use or storage in the refrigerator.

Easy Strawberry Jam

This recipe yields 3 cups of strawberry jam.

Prep Time: 20 minutes

Cook Time: 35 minutes

Ready In: 2 hours 55 minutes

  • 3 pints fresh strawberries
  • 3 cups superfine sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Grand Marnier or other orange liqueur
  • 1/2 Granny Smith apple, peeled, cored and small-diced
  • 1/2 cup fresh blueberries
  1. Prepare the strawberries
  2. Rinse the strawberries in a colander, then drain and hull. Make them roughly an equal size by cutting the larger berries down. Toss with the sugar and orange liqueur in a heavy-bottomed pot or Dutch oven.

  3. Cook the fruit
  4. Heat the strawberries, sugar and orange liqueur over medium heat, bringing to a boil before adding the apple and blueberries. Maintain a rolling boil, stirring occasionally, for up to 35 minutes, or until the mixture reaches a temperature of 220 degrees on a candy thermometer.

  5. Cool the jam
  6. Skim and discard foam from the top of the jam and allow to cool at room temperature. Cover and store in the refrigerator, where it will keep for at least 2 weeks.
