To prepare a tangerine, carrot and turmeric smoothie, remove the peel and seeds from 2 tangerines, and place the tangerine segments inside a blender. Chop 2 small carrots, and toss them into the blender. Pour in 1 cup of almond milk, 1/2 cup of Greek yogurt, 2 tablespoons of agave syrup and 1 teaspoon of ground turmeric. Add 1 cup of crushed ice, and thoroughly process the ingredients to form a smooth beverage.
To make sauteed cabbage and carrots with turmeric, warm up 1/3 cup of extra-virgin olive oil in a large and heavy pot, and gently fry 2 cups of chopped red onions over medium heat until they are tender. Stir in 10 minced cloves of garlic, a peeled and minced 2-inch piece of ginger and 2 tablespoons of ground turmeric. Continue to cook the mixture until the vegetables are aromatic and start to take on a slightly caramelized appearance.
Cut 1 pound of carrots into strips, and add them to the pot. Pour in 1/2 cup of water, and cook the carrots until they soften slightly. Gradually incorporate 5 pounds of chopped green cabbage. Cover the pot, and allow the mixture to simmer for 40 minutes or until the vegetables are tender. Add salt to taste.
