To make four servings of Campbell's easy tamale pie, preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Brown 1 pound of ground beef, and drain any excess fat. Add a 16-ounce can of undrained whole kernel corn, a 16-ounce jar of Pace picante sauce and 1/2 cup of shredded cheddar cheese to the beef. Stir the mixture well, and spoon it into a shallow 2-quart baking dish. Prepare a box of corn muffin mix according to the directions, and drop the batter evenly over the meat mixture. Bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown.
To make six servings of Betty Crocker's tamale pot pie, preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit, and brown 1 pound of ground beef. Drain the excess fat from the meat, and add a 9-ounce box of thawed frozen corn, a 14-ounce can of undrained diced tomatoes, a 2.25-ounce can of drained sliced ripe olives and 2 tablespoons of Bisquick. Add 1 tablespoon of chili powder, 2 teaspoons of cumin and 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Boil and stir the mixture for one minute, and then pour it into a 9-inch square baking dish.
In another bowl, mix together 1 cup of Bisquick, 1/2 cup of cornmeal, 1/2 cup of milk and 1 egg. Spread the batter over the meat mixture, and bake it for 25 minutes or until light brown.Learn more about Cooking
